The Masthead
About MetabolicMoms
The magazine for mothers on GLP-1 — honest reporting on cost, coverage and the metabolic reality of raising a family.
Most GLP-1 comparison sites are built for a generic patient. Mothers are not generic. The math on a weekly injection has to survive a family budget as the dose climbs; the schedule has to bend around school pickup and a sick kid; and the questions — about pregnancy timing, about contraception, about what to tell your OB — are ones a rushed telehealth intake rarely asks. MetabolicMoms is a magazine written for exactly that reader.
We do two things. We report — essays and columns on the cost, the coverage, and the metabolic reality of raising a family while managing your own weight. And we rank. Every GLP-1 provider we cover is scored out of 100 on the Editors' Rating — six weighted factors chosen for how a mother actually shops for care. We apply the same rubric to every provider. Any provider here may pay the masthead when you sign up, and that money never buys a higher rating — it does buy earlier placement in our listings, which we disclose. Read exactly how we're funded in our disclosure.
Every clinical claim on this masthead is tied to primary research or official labeling and fact-checked against the record before it runs — that checking is done by our evidence reviewer, a former pharma-industry analyst who reads the trials but does not treat patients. The writers below are mothers writing for mothers — reporters and essayists, not clinicians — and nothing here is medical advice.
The desk
Margaux Ellery
Editor-in-ChiefMargaux runs the MetabolicMoms desk and edits every piece that carries the seal. A writer and reporter — not a licensed clinician — she built the title around one idea: that mothers deserve GLP-1 coverage written for their budgets and their days, not for the manufacturers.
Tessa Bloom
Contributing Editor, Cost & CoverageTessa reports the money: what a program really costs at the maintenance dose, how compounded and brand pricing compare once insurance enters, and where the fine print hides. If a number looks too good on a landing page, she is the one who reads to the bottom.
Renée Salazar
ColumnistRenée writes the essays and columns — on diet culture, the mental load of feeding a family, and the way a body changes on a hormonal clock. Her beat is the lived experience the trial data never captures.
MetabolicMoms is informational only and not a medical provider. Nothing here is medical advice — see our medical disclaimer. Questions or corrections? Reach the desk at hello@metabolicmoms.com.
